Mission Statement 2015 smallA warm welcome to St Thomas (Halliwell) CE Primary School website. I hope you will find it informative and of interest. I strongly encourage you to visit our school to experience at first hand the happiness and enthusiasm that runs throughout.

The children, staff and governors share enormous pride in this school where every opportunity is offered to inspire children in their learning. We provide a high quality education for all our pupils, enhanced by a safe, caring and positive atmosphere. Underpinned by our strong Christian ethos, every child is valued and treated as a unique individual. We offer them learning experiences which are memorable and allow them to develop skills to cope with the ever-changing world around them. We ensure children’s specific needs are catered for, whether it is developing specific skills and talents or helping them persevere with any area of the curriculum or school life that is more challenging.

The curriculum that we provide is both relevant and challenging and is designed to develop the full potential of all our children. We provide stimulating well-resourced learning environments and expect the highest standards of work and behaviour from all of our pupils.

We value the opinions of all members of our learning community and we use feedback to help us improve the provision we provide for the children in our care.

We are continually striving for improvement and we will do everything possible to ensure that your child is happy at our school by offering the highest standards of education and promoting their well-being through the development of Christian values.

We are proud of our school and what we achieve everyday.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information or would like to visit the school you would be more than welcome.

Mrs Abigail Fielden

Headteacher

Thank you for visiting our school’s website.

As governors we are very proud of St Thomas’ school. Hopefully you’ve seen us around school already and many of you will be aware of the work we do to help make our school an even better place to learn and grow.

We try to make our school better by using our own experience and knowledge; by listening and talking to every child and every adult in school; by making sure everyone’s voice is heard; by setting a good example and by challenging everyone in school to work hard and achieve as much as possible.

Of course, St Thomas’ is a church school, and the Christian teachings are very important. Some of our governors are appointed by St Thomas Church, some are appointed by the local authority, some are parents and some of our governors are members of staff. Importantly, we welcome governors of all faiths.

We come into school as often as we can. Much of our time is spent in meetings with Mrs Fielden and other members of staff but we also like to spend plenty of time in lessons and getting involved in school activities.

So the next time you see us in school, please say hello!
