Our Vision Statement
To maximise individual potential and growth, developing the skills, attitudes, knowledge and aspirations of all pupils through Christian faith.
We will strive to make our school a place where staff, governors and parents work actively together to ensure children receive a rich, inspiring, dynamic and engaging education, enabling each child to become a lifelong learner, aspiring to high standards of achievement in all areas of their life.
Our vision is to create a school under pinned with Christian values – where everyone feels valued, has the opportunity to explore and develop their strengths and is able to participate in new experiences. We aim to become an inspirational school to produce good citizens for the future in an atmosphere that promotes confidence, high academic achievement, physical health and emotional well-being.
We aim: To provide opportunities with a highly engaging, broad and balanced curriculum so that each child can achieve success and can fulfil his or her potential. To develop rounded individuals socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and creatively. To provide a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment where everyone is listened to and respected. To encourage and enable the continuous professional development of staff, ensuring effective communication between all. To display a commitment towards making St Thomas’ a sustainable school, actively focusing on a wide range of environmental issues. To nurture strong partnerships and positive relationships with parents, carers and the wider community. To recognise and celebrate success in all aspects of school life. To build on our Christian foundations to provide a secure and creative environment where children are nurtured and can achieve their individual potential. We work together to: Create a caring and happy learning community in which Christian values are practiced and promoted through all that we do and say. Promote qualities of respect, high self-esteem, resilience, self-motivation and ambition in every child. Ensure that equality of opportunity is exercised through all aspects of our school life, regardless of gender, ethnicity, additional needs and beliefs. Value each person for their uniqueness and nurture and develop their gifts and potential. Ensure that each member of the school knows they belong and accepts the responsibility of caring for one another and for Gods world. Provide children with an exciting, safe, secure and happy learning environment, where trust, respect and understanding are modelled and evident at all times through positive relationships. Everyone Valued
We value every member of the school community through the recognition of individual strengths and the development of potential.
We promote positive relationships between everyone involved with the school, including the local parish church and the wider community.
We encourage each person in the school community to see they are uniquely valued and that their gifts and potential will be nurtured and developed.
We maintain and further develop productive home-school links, so that parents, carers and staff work as true partners in learning.
We build high self-esteem in all associated with our school in order that they will respect and care for themselves and for others.
We help each child prepare for the next stage of their education and their future life.
