Wellbeing & Attendance Ambassadors

Role Description - Main Responsibilities


Promote Wellbeing and Positive Mental Health

  • Encourage pupils to talk about their feelings and understand that it’s okay to ask for help.
  • Help promote wellbeing activities such as Wellbeing Wednesdays, Anti-Bullying week and themed events.
  • Support a calm, kind and inclusive school environment by living out the school’s SHINE values.

Support Attendance and Belonging

  • Promote the importance of coming to school every day and how attendance helps learning, friendships and wellbeing.
  • Support attendance initiatives such as celebrating improved attendance and encouraging pupils who may feel worried about school.
  • Help younger pupils feel welcome, safe and settled in school.

Support Peers at Playtimes and Lunchtimes

  • Help look after wellbeing resources such as backpacks with colouring, books, blankets and fidgets.
  • Offer friendly support to pupils who may be feeling lonely, worried or upset, including those using buddy benches or calm spaces.
  • Encourage kindness, inclusion and positive play.

Represent Pupil Voice

  • Gather ideas and feedback from classmates about wellbeing, feelings, friendships and attendance.
  • Share pupil views during ambassador meetings or with the Pastoral Care Officer.
  • Help plan wellbeing activities, calendar events and awareness campaigns.

Promote Help and Support

  • Help remind pupils about trusted adults, worry boxes and safe spaces in school.
  • Support the creation of posters or displays that show where and how pupils can get help.
  • Encourage pupils to use strategies that help them feel calm, safe and ready to learn.

Celebrate Positive Behaviour and Achievements

  • Help recognise acts of kindness, resilience, good attendance and positive attitudes.
  • Support celebrations that promote pride, happiness and a sense of belonging.
  • Promote respect for others and celebrate diversity within the school community.

Model Positive Attitudes and Behaviour

  • Be a positive role model by showing kindness, responsibility and respect at all times.
  • Demonstrate good attendance, positive behaviour and a caring attitude towards others.
  • Take pride in the ambassador role and represent the school with confidence.
